WOW! Our house is really Pretty

Trying in moms new sunglasses before heading off to the fair.

Here is a bit about our remodel in case you were wondering...lots of pixs for all our fans out there.

Oh god, that was our kitchen, ummmm...not sure what room it is anymore after being completely demolished, nice job Dada. All the black beams were from a fire long ago....and the floors too!

Dada and I start ripping up the kitchen floor those are the wooden beams that Dada somehow managed to put up (there used to be a wall there). Mom is finally convinced that they aren't gonna fall on us.

Dada and I finish ripping it up and celebrate

Dada after spending all day in the attic reaching into 2 feet of cellulose insulation attempting to rewire the house.

Dada happy after a bath. Way to go!

Gabe helps out

Forrest and I take off to the Oregon Country Fair to let Dada tear more stuff up.
I loved the pirate ship! We saw lots of music, a play for kids, samba, and ate lots of ice cream!
Just added this guy in because he was so awesome....he made a bike powered jigsaw. And anyone who wears those short overalls at his age has to be cool ( or just crazy).

Harth

We spent today choosing a hearthstone. Dada and me chose the perfect one, lugged it home, then went to work trying to put it in just the right spot. Casey helped too. I think we got a pretty nice one. Casey oiled the deck yesterday & it's pretty spectacular. And mom made me another funny looking scarf that I'll probably make Forrest wear.

Soccer & Gardens

Me & Forrest have been pretty busy. I've been building & my dad helps out too. Beautiful stuff, I'll post the pixs another time. Now lets talk about soccer. I love soccer. I'm awesome & kick the ball really fast. I know how to also do soccer stops & take water breaks. Forrest cheers me on. I just got a pretty cool looking shorter haircut too. Me and my dad trimmed our hair together the other day. I helped him buzz his after my mom gave him a mohawk.

Forrest has been having fun lately. He's mostly been into gardening, likes to dig a lot & eat dirt. I think he's finally figured out that it doesn't taste good. And his other new favorite activity is eating spicy pickles. He loves "Bubbies" pickles. He's already eaten a whole jar in the last few days!

Putting up the walls

Plaster time. This is how we mized up the clay plaster to put up on the walls. It was pretty fun. You can't really tell by the pixs, but they are a maroonish-clay color. Casey also built the ladder that will help me get up to the loft. Dada, Mama, & Forrest were very excited.

House

Looking good! We are almost done. That's our builder, Uncle Casey, not a walrus contemplating plaster walls.

Putting on the Finishing Touches

Cedar siding is up & redwood deck is done. We're taking suggestions for colors. I'm thinking hot pink. Time for a popsicle after a hard days work.

Humm??

Me & Forrest snuck up to the roof today to get a better view. Pretty awesome aint it? We then put in the wood stove pipe & can't do this cool trick anymore.

Almost done

Not with the whole project, but the insulation is almost done. Forrest took over as project manager for the weekend, as you can see, he's quite a boss. But yesterday, we ran out of wood chips! So I sent Casey to the wood chip place today to get more. But that's okay, insulation is a tough job & we were pooped after a hard days work & passed out. Forrest insists that I go to preschool today, so I'm gonna humor him & go. Besides, who else is going to feed the bunnies if I don't? Here are some pixs of all the fun we had this weekend. And my Dada made this informational video, just click here.

So that is Casey's kitchen at the top, all lived in & cozy. I often go hang out with him in there & we play music & sing songs about how we don't like cauliflower. This week, we all put on the metal roof. It's all recycled but in almost new condition, so we're psyched. I rigged up an elaborate system of ropes on the roof for dada & Casey to climb on, balancing while mom looked on below praying. Yes, that is Dada trying to hoist himself up on one of the ropes to balance. The roof is up just in time for the rain to return & tomorrow we are putting in the cedar-clay chip insulation. Lots of fun, I am going to mix some up with Forrest. I have already begin to show him & I think he's getting the idea. I'll keep you all posted.

School & More Building

So last week was my first week of school & it was okay. I say okay because I liked it but also got upset alot. Not to worry, because I made a few friends, chased chickens, dug holes, talked to bunnies, & ate tacos. And of course, got to put my new monkey back pack to use.
On the building front, we have a roof! Not completely done yet, we need to put up the metal roofing, but it really feels like a house now. My favorite spot is the attic space which is going ot be a loft for sleeping, but i think it will make the perfect hiding spot. I had to do most of the work, yet again, but I realize that Casey & Dada are busy men.
